UNITED STATES IMPOSES TARIFF RATE QUOTA ON LARGE RESIDENTIAL WASHERS

Today the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced that the United States was utilizing Section 201 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose a tariff rate quota (TRQ) on imports of large residential wash machines into the United States. While there have been several individual trade actions with respect to such imports, the Section 201 TRQ will apply to all imports of these articles into the United States.
The announced action contemplates three years of protection at the following rates:
